Stars (Shine Together and Rejoice)
Stars provides a place for children and youth with special needs to be comfortable and engaged so their parents can attend church. Learning and faith-based activities are provided. Friendship Class: Disability-Friendly Sunday School
This class is for teens and adults impacted by intellectual disabilities, who desire to grow in their walk with Christ. Participants are encouraged to attend the 11:00am service for the music portion of worship, after which they will be dismissed. They will meet their teacher in the Upper Lobby and he or she will bring them to class. Parents or caregivers are required to stay on church grounds during class but are not required to attend class with them. Special Touch Ministry Inc., Nutmeg Chapter
The mission of Special Touch Ministry is to ease and enrich the lives of people impacted by disability. The local Nutmeg Chapter is a faith-based friendship support group that hosts free events bi-monthly on Saturdays in Northford, CT. Each event typically includes arts and crafts, games, lunch, music and worship, prayer and an encouraging faith-based lesson. The events are geared towards fostering community among individuals of all ages, families and their support systems. Regional summer get away. disability ministry counseling and training, and Disability Friendly Church Certification are also offered through Special Touch Ministry.
